And when you're following a strict diet - you're just following a common misconception. Of course, eating healthy food and avoiding saturated fats, junk food, caffeine and other unhealthy products is very beneficial for your health in general.   1. Liquid diets are not designed for long-term use. You should never plan a staple diet around liquid meals. There are nutrients your body needs from solid foods that don't transfer well into liquid. Liquid diets should not be followed longer than three months.
